real love

Real love is not just infatuation or emotion. It is not doing what feels good, looking out for yourself or avoiding pain. Love is commitment, it is surrender, it is vulnerability, it is dedication, it is devotion, it is staying when you want to leave, it is listening when you really don't want to hear, it is trusting when you'd rather be a skeptic, it is living when you want to die. Love is freely giving, humbling oneself and pouring out one's soul for the sake of another; real love requires real vulnerability.
